Join us for a special hula workshop and learn a beautiful hula ‘auana to Kuini, by four-time Grammy Award winner Kalani Pe‘a!
 

Just in time for Mother’s Day, this mele (song), meaning “Queen” in English, was chosen to celebrate the incredible wāhine (women) in our lives.

Open to all—no hula experience needed!
You’ll learn a modern-style hula choreographed by award-winning Kumu Hula Mokihana Melendez. In hula, understanding the meaning behind the mele is key to telling the story correctly, so we will also share its English translation during the workshop.

 

Fundraiser & Extras
During the event, we’ll have lei, plate lunches, and desserts available for purchase. Even if you’re not joining the workshop, stop by Allegro to pick up delicious food or a lei for your mom!

This event supports our hālau’s competitive divisions as they prepare for upcoming hula competitions this fall. Mahalo nui loa for supporting our hālau and Hawaiian culture!
